Workshop: Protecting Your Intellectual Property

Every business starts with an idea, but are you taking the right steps to protect your intellectual property? If you do not protect your intellectual property proactively early on, it may end up costing you down the road. During this workshop patent attorney Lori Sandman and artist Erica Group, best known for her DeLand Wings social media sensation, will share their experiences protecting intellectual property and navigating the process of registering copyrights, patents and trademarks.  


Meet Erica Group of Nature’s Patina

Erica Group is a DeLand, Florida, native with a great love for this wonderful city. She has a background in architecture and received her Bachelors in Interior Design from Cazenovia College in upstate New York. She is most noted for painting the "DeLand Wings" in DeLand’s Pill Alley. Erica also has a booth in So.NY Market where she sells her furniture designs, artwork and a collection of hand picked antique and vintage decor. Erica creates logos, stationery and chalkboard designs in addition to interiors. Many designs right in DeLand, including: Dressed Boutique logo, Bake Chop chalkboards, Indie Market promotions, So.NY Market logo, Persimmon Hollow Brewing Mural. Most recently, Erica was recognized by the Daytona Beach News Journal as an up and coming young professional in the 40 under 40 report.
